About Us

We are a friendly group who are happy to welcome new members.

We are committed to preserve the historical heritage of the small industrial town of Redditch. A town which has a fascinating history beginning with the Cistercian monastery in 1138, continuing through the Industrial Revolution, with the development of the town for the manufacture of needles, fish hooks and other products, and on to Redditch being designated as a ‘New Town’ and the subsequent changes associated with this.

We are a group supporting the town museum, which covers the early development of the area and has exhibitions involving the history of the town from early times to the present day.

We have many ideas on how the museum can provide more facilities for local residents and visitors, and how additional funding can be provided. We need your ideas and support to achive our aims.
