Despite the rather cool weather, we had a fantastic event at Forge Mill today for the Remembering the 40s day.
As always, the 40s team are really nice people who show a real commitment to their interest. There was some excellent ‘hardware’ on show with cars, military vehicles and equipment in first class condition and their owners were very willing to talk to enthusiasts both young and old.
We also had an exciting model plane display over the Abbey site. As usual, Indigo Arts gave a very good performance, and Ruby Lamont, 1940s singer, was also excellent.
We had nearly 500 visitors on the day, mostly adults, and everyone had a good time. This, now annual, event is always good value for both exhibitors and visitors.
