The Westhope group is a diverse group of textile artists who primarily work with lace techniques. The members come from across the UK (meeting once a year at Westhope College) to share their knowledge and expertise.
Although their work is grounded in centuries old techniques, their aim is to challenge the traditional views of lace.
Members have been working on this challenging theme for over two years and have been inspired by everything from lighthouses to sewing machines, from boat lifts to turbines.
It is an exhibition that definitely will challenge people’s perception of lace and shows what traditional lace techniques can achieve.
There will be lace demonstrations and a chance to meet the artists on Sun 22 October from 1.00 to 3.30pm
